GUTMANN LARA GF with timber cover

4. January 2024

Due to the increased request for mullion-transom façades with timber cover, we have added the system widths 60 mm and 80 mm to our high-performance Lara GF system.

The architectural appeal of mullion and transom systems with timber cladding is increasingly being used in protected areas, e.g. in shopping arcades, arcades or atriums. Due to the often well-protected location, very fine woods with e.g. transparent glazes can reflect a homely, warm and lively impression here.

These systems with wooden coverings are also used in exposed areas. The architecture of the weathered wood surface plays a decisive role here. The natural greying of untreated wood, e.g. larch, is expressly desired by the building owner. The wood ages naturally, greying and creating a living façade.

The performance characteristics of the Gutmann Lara GF mullion-transom system with timber cover are identical to the systems with aluminum cover. Thanks to the ingenious design, the outer pressure strip / base profile is not visible. The space between the timber profile cover and the pressure bar/base profile is rear-ventilated. The special outer glazing gasket is designed with a predetermined breaking point. The seal is notched to ensure proper ventilation and drainage.

The new press profiles/base profiles 60mm and 80mm are available immediately. Please find attached the corresponding cross sections and the article overview.
